Aban (Avan, Ava):

“Water”. She is the Yazad presiding over water. 10th day of the month and 8th month of the year is named for her in Zoroastrian religious calendar. She is synonymous with Anahita. She is also a co-worker of Spenta Armaiti.

 
Ahurani:

Female Yazads presiding over water, and so celestial fertility goddesses. They may also recall water nymphs of Greek and Slavic mythologies.

 
Airyaman:

Yazad of friendship and healing. His name is a close cognate with and his function and character is synonymous with the Hindu god Aryaman.

 
Akhshti:
Yazad personifying peace.
 
Anaghra Raocha (Anagran, Aneran):

Yazad of the “Endless Light”. This is a personification of the “Region of light where Ahura Mazda resides”, roughly equating to the Zoroastrian “Heaven”. The 30th day of the month in the Zoroastrian religious calendar is named for him.

 
Apam Napat:

Male Yazad of waters. He is synonymous with the Hindu god of the same name. He is also called Ahura Berezant. In Pahlavi he was called Burz Yazad. His name recalls that of Neptune, derived from IE words for “Cloud, Heaven, etc.”

 
Aredvi Sura Anahita:

"Holy, Strong Anahita”. Female Yazad personifying the celestial waters. The name of Anahita was synonymous with the planet Venus, and she resides in the starry regions. She was the same as Aban Yazad, and also called Arduisur.

 
Arshtat (Ashtad):

“Rectitude, justice”. Female Yazad personifying and presiding over justice. The 26th day of the month in the Zoroastrian religious calendar is named for her. In the Yasnas she is invoked together with Rashnu, the Yazad of the final judgement as The very straight Rashnu and Arshtad, who further the world, who augment the world". She was a co-worker of the Amesh Spenta Ameretat.

 
Ashi Vanghuhi (Ashishwangh, Ard):

“Good blessings, rewards”, female Yazad of good blessings. She was also called Ashishwangh or Arshishwang. The 25th day of the month in the Zoroastrian religious calendar is named for her. She is a co-worker of Spenta Armaiti.

 
Asman:

“Sky”. Yazad presiding over the sky. Sky was the first of the worldly creations of Ohrmazd, followed by water, earth, plants, animals, mankind.

 
Atar (Adar, Atash, Atesh, Adur):

“Fire”. Yazad personifying and presiding over fire. He is referred to as “The Son of Ahura Mazda” in the Avesta. The 9th day of the month and 9th month of the year is named for him in Zoroastrian religious calendar. He was also recognized as a co-worker of the Amesha Spenta Ashi.

 
Chisti (Chista):

Female Yazad personifying religious wisdom. Her name probably means “Instruction”. Also known as Razishta Chista (Most Upright Chista).

 
Daena (Den, Din):

“Divinely-Inspired Conscience, Faith, Truth, Religion”. Female Yazad presiding over the religion. Her name may be derive from the same root as the Baltic daenas, “Religious hymns”. She is a co-worker of Spenta Armaiti.

 
Dahm:
Yazad honored on the fourth day after death Dahm.
 
Dahma Afriti (Dahman Afrin):
Embodiment of power of prayer and benediction.
 
Damoish Upamana:
Yazad personifying anathema.
 
Drvaspa:
Female Yazad personifying cattle.
 
Erethe:
Female Yazad personifying truth.
 
Gaw:

Yazad personifying cattle.

 
Geush Urvan (Gosh, Goshorun):

“The soul of the cow”. Personification of animal life. The name of the 14th day of the month according to the Zoroastrian religious calendar was named for it. He was a co-worker of the Amesh Spenta Vohu Manah.

 
Haoma (Hom):

Yazad presiding over the haoma plant, which has medicinal and spiritual properties. Ahura Mazda created it for its immortalizing powers. It either grows from the “World Tree” or is planted in the Zoroastrian equivalent of the “Otherworld paradise” - Garden of Eden alongside the “World Tree” or the banks of a sacred river.

In Hindu religion it is known as Soma. It also equates to Idun”s apples and the apples of the Hesperides in Norse and Greek mythologies, respectively.

 
Haptoiringa:

A star Yazad associated with Ursa Major. He was the “Chieftain of the north”.

 
Havani (Hawan, Havan):
Yazad presiding over the second watch (Gah) of each day (Sunrise to midday).
 
Hvare-khshaeta (Khwarshed):

“The shining sun”, the Yazad presiding over the Sun The Russians adopted him as Khors via an uncertain route and date.

 
Khwarenah (Khwarrah, Farrah):
Yazad presiding over Divine Grace or Fortune.
 
Maonghah (Mah):
“Moon”. Yazad presiding over the Moon.
 

Manthra Spenta (Mahraspand):

“Holy Word”. Yazad who embodies the Holy Word. The 29th day of the month according to the Zoroastrian religious calendar is named for him.

 
Mithra (Mihr, Mehr):  

Yazad presiding over the contract, personification of light. The name of the 16th day of the month according to the Zoroastrian religious calendar and the 7th month is named for him. He was a co-worker of the Amesh Spenta Vohu Manah.

 
Nairyosangha (Neryosang):

Yazad associated with prayer, he is a messenger between mankind and Ahura Mazda. In India he is found as Narayana, a primeval god.

 
Paoiryaenis:

Star Yazad associated with the Pleiades. His name may be a cognate with the Hindu god Parjanya, who in turn has been identified with the Slavic Perunas and Lithuanian Perkons.

 
Parendi:
Female Yazad of “Abundance” or “Plenitude”. (Indo-Iranian in origin)
 
Paurwanya:
Star Yazad associated with a constellation of uncertain identity.
 
Raman (Ram):

“Joy”. Yazad presiding over Joy or Felicity. The 21st day of the month according to the Zoroastrian religious calendar is named for him. He was a co-worker of the Amesh Spenta Vohu Manah.

 
Rapithwin:

Yazad presiding over the third period of the day (Gah) from noon to mid-afternoon. During five months of the year a second Hawan replaces him. As “Lord of the Noonday Heat”, it is his warmth that is necessary for the plants to grow.

In the winter, Rapithwin retreats to the Underworld and keeps the subterranean waters warm so the roots of the plants will not freeze. His character has some overlap with dying-and-resurrection solar gods common in IE mythology.

The great one which they call a Gah (period of the day), which they say is the great one of the middle of the sky, till just before the destroyer came was the midday (or south) one of the five, that is, the Rapithwin. (Bundashin 2.8)

 
Rasanstat:
Female Yazad personifying truth.
 
Rashnu, Rashne (Rashn):  

Yazad of Justice. He judges souls of the deceased before the bridge to heaven and the abyss. He was a co-worker of the Amesh Spenta Ameretat.

 
Rata:
Female Yazad personifying charity. In India she is known as Rati.
 
Satavaesa, Sataves:

A star Yazad. He was the “Chieftain of the west” and associated with the planet Anahid (Venus).

 
Sraosha (Sarosh, Srosh):

“Hearkening”. The Yazad who guards the soul for three days after death. He is also counted as an Amesha Spenta. He was also recognized as a co-worker of the Amesha Spenta Ashi.

 
Tishtyra:

Called “resplendent and glorious”, he is the Yazad of the star Sirius (Canis Minor). Tishtrya also brings the rains. He was also the “Chieftain” of the east and associated with the planet Tir (Mercury), while his peer Sataves the chieftain of the west and the planet Anahid (Venus), Vanand the chieftain of the south and the planet Ohrmazd (Jupiter), and Haptoring the chieftain of the north and the planet Warharan (Mars).

 Their leader was Gah (Rapithwin), the host of the middle of the sky (North Star) and associated witht the planet Kevan (Saturn). These Star-Gods seem to recall the four dwarves that hold up the four corners of the earth in Norse mythology, and the eight divinities that hold up the earth in Hindu mythology. He was a co-worker of the Amesh Spenta Haurevetat.

 

Tishtryaeninis (Tishtar, Tir):

Star Yazad associated with Canis Minor.

Same as Paoiryaenis

 
Ushah "Dawn":

“Dawn”.Female Yazad of the dawn (Indo-Iranian in origin). Her name seems similar to the Greek dawn-goddess Eos, the Old English Easther, etc.

 

Ushahin:

Yazad who presides over the first watch (Gah) of the day from midnight to daybreak.

 
Uzerin:

Yazad who presides over the fourth watch (Gah) of each day from 3PM to sunset.

 

Vata (Gowad):

Wind Yazad. The 22nd day of the month is named for him.

 
Vanant, Vananta, Vanand:

Star Yazad identified with Vega. He is one of the four leaders of the stars, the chieftain of the south.

 
Vayu (Wad, Gowad, Govad):

“Wind”. He is the Yazad personifying the wind or atmosphere, also called Gowad or Govad. (Indo-Iranian in origin). He was a co-worker of the Amesh Spenta Haurevetat.

 

Verethraghna (Warharan, Behram):

“Victory”. He is the Yazad personifying victory, also known as Bahram or Behram. (Indo-Iranian in origin). The 20th day of the month in the Zoroastrian religious calendar is named for him. He was also recognized as a co-worker of the Amesha Spenta Ashi.

 

Visya:

Yazad associated with the settlement. He is invoked together with Savanghi.

 
Zamyat, Zamyad (Zam):

“Earth”. Female Yazad presiding over the earth. The 28th day of the month in the Zoroastrian religious calendar is named for her. She was a co-worker of the Amesh Spenta Ameretat.

 

Zantuma:

Tutelary Yazad who presides over the tribe.
